The Island Vermire
"The Ocean's Emerald"
General
Vermire is a notoriously wealthy island despite the fact that its population is largely destitute.

It floats just above the ocean, it's docks built directly in the dark waters. This unique feature has allowed the economy to rely upon fishing and whaling. Despite this, the ocean gives just as much as she takes.

Vermire, like any other location, has its fair share of job opportunities; no one is limited to the options below. These are only the island's most prominent exports.

Warships & Firearms
The only thing more profitable than hunting whales is making the warships their emeralds use, and creating firearms with them.

Whaling & Fishing
Hunting the notorious Vermorian Whales and exporting the emeralds they yeild. Also, hunting ordinary fish that live here in abundance.

Trade & Export
Work shipping goods between other isles on packet/cargo vessels. Besides warships, Vermire also makes cargo vessels.
Climate & Weather
Vermire experiences the full gamut of known weather conditions. Its winters are particularly brutal, though luckily they aren't any longer than its other seasons.

Summers are more pleasant, as they're not often oppressively hot. The ice on the harbor melts and the island's natural greenery returns during these warmer months.
In every season other than summer, Vermire is usually encased in a light fog. This would make traveling the waters treacherous if it weren't for the island's lighthouses.
